Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, Alexander Ryan of Calvert (formerly of Red Island, Placentia Bay) aged 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Florence (March 2005). Leaving to mourn daughter Rosemary Dillon (Wayne); sons Joe (Cathy), Lou (Anne Marie), Kevin (Cynthia) and grandchildren Chris, Nicki, Michael, Cheryl, Denis, Jason and Gordon; brother Anthony and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, February 26-27. Funeral Mass Saturday, February 28, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Calvert. Interment following at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ferryland. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
