Walter Baxter SHEDIAC CAPE, NB - Walter Baxter, 70, of Shediac Cape, beloved grandfather of Robbie, Sara, Katie, Kyle and Delphine passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday September 1st, 2004. Born in Moncton, son of the late Dr.Charles R. and Margaret (Appleton) Baxter. Walter was retired from General Motors with thirty years service and was a member of Trinity United Church, Shediac. He was one of the founding members of the Walkers and Talkers Club of Shediac, former member of the Beaver Curling Club and was a graduate of Rothesay Collegiate School (1953). Walter enjoyed sailing, skiing, mowing his lawn at the shore, entertaining and joking with his family and friends, however his family and grand children were first and foremost in his life. Besides his grand children Walter will be sadly missed by his daughters, Brenda Baxter (Jean-Louis Wallace), Ottawa ON, Diane Baxter, Moncton; his son, Michael (Shannon), Milwaukee Wisconsin; sister, Joan Steeves (Harold), Shediac Cape; brothers, Charles (Marion), Halifax NS, John (Judy), Brian (Vicky), Shediac Cape; several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his wife, the late Barbara Jane Baxter (March 2001) and one sister, Margaret (Tish) Goddard. No visitation by personal request. A celebration of Walter's life will be held at Trinity United Church, Main St. Shediac, Tuesday Sept. 7, 2004, 2pm, Rev.Leander Mills officiating. Reception in the Church hall following the service. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Shediac. In Walter's memory donations to Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Oncology Unit) or Trinity United Church would be appreciated.
