Dianne Elaine Phalen, age 59, of Hillside Road, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 27, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Born in Advocate, she was a daughter of Camilla (Field) Finley of Amherst and the late Norman Finley. She was a retired employee of Michelin Tire. She enjoyed camping, fishing, knitting, music and was liked by everyone who knew her. She was a member of the Garden Goddesses.
Surviving besides her mother are her husband David; daughters: Sandra “Sandy” (Dana DeMings), New Glasgow; Laurie, Stellarton; sister: Eloise (Brian) Allen, Amherst; nephew: Patrick (Stephanie) Allen; great nephew: Liam; cousin: Russell Finley, Amherst Head; numerous cousins, brothers and sisters in law. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 3 pm Monday with Rev. Leo Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Amherst Cemetery at a later date.
