Ian MacDonald

Ian MacDonald 1940-2004 Ian MacDonald, 63, of Dieppe, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Dr. Georges L.-Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB. after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Charlottetown, PE, he was the son of the late Harry and the late Stella (Murphy) MacDonald. Mr. MacDonald was a retired Dieppe Police Officer and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Robert (Lisa) of Dieppe; two sisters, Maureen (Dean) Goughnour of Lethbridge, AB and Roberta (Ray) Hebert of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his Sassy "man's best friend". Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris in 1970 and by one infant sister Roberta. Resting at Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, with visitation on Monday, September 6, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Our Lady of Loretto Roman Catholic Church (Lakeburn) on Tuesday, September 7th, 2004 at 11am. Interment in Middle Sackville Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sackville, NB. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation "Oncology" would be appreciated by the family.
