Monique Rose Hartwell

Monique Rose Hartwell BEDFORD, NS - Monique Rose Hartwell, 53, passed away on September 23, 2004 in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Site, QEII, Halifax after a courageous struggle with cancer. She is sadly mourned and deeply missed by husband, Murray; daughter, Laura; mother, Irene Lagace; sisters, Claudette (Robert) Pelland, Ginette Lagace and Sylvie (Bernard) Ond; mother-in-law, Doris Hartwell; sister-inlaw, Diane (Lindsay) Lawrence; nieces and nephews. Monique was born in Montreal-North and worked at McGill University and CI-L in Mississauga before moving to Bedford in 1993. Monique loved life and she brought great joy and happiness to those she came to know. Her compassion, understanding and thoughtful ways won her many friends. Monique also loved children. The "Francais c'est le Fun" program that she developed and taught for several years from her home, introduced French to many children in the Bedford area. Monique and the children enjoyed themselves immensely as they sang and danced while learning French. A ceremony to celebrate Monique's life will be held on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Bedford United Church, 1200 Bedford Hwy with Rev. David Hart officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Children's Wish Foundation (902-492-1984) or on-line at (www.childrenswish.ca)
