Laurie Fournier 1930 - 2004 ACADIEVILLE, NB - After a courageous battle against cancer, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at the age of 74 years, peacefully passed away Laurie Fournier, husband of Imelda Richard for over 50 years. Born in Acadieville, NB on March 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Gilbert Fournier and Alma Doiron. Laurie was employed by Canadian National for 35 years, until his retirement in 1990. He had a passion for nature and music. His compassion and simplicity won him many sincere friends. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus and volunteered generously in his community. A part of him still lives on through his twin brother who benefits from Laurie's generous kidney donation. He will be sadly missed by his five daughters, Carmelle (Johnny Caissie) and Réjeanne (Terry Doiron) both from Acadieville, NB, Patricia (Jerry Doiron) from Rogersville, NB, Jocelyne (JeanGuy Thibodeau) from Fredericton, NB and Carole (Euclide Boucher) from Collette, NB. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Charles, Joey, Serge, Jean-Marc, Annie, Angèle, Joel, Marco and Karine. He is also survived by his twin brother, Louis (Cécile); and his brothers, Cléophas (Madeleine) and Eric (Irene), all from Acadieville, NB; one sister, Bertha (Alyre Caissie) from Acadieville, NB; one adoptive sister, Gerty Laveault from Quebec. He is predeceased by one brother, Alonzo and one sister, Lorraine Chavarie. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Salon "La Colombe" 11 325 rte 126, Rogersville, NB. Visiting hours on Thursday, September 30, 2004, from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm and Friday, October 1, 2004, from 1pm until departure for funeral service. The funeral service will be held at the Immaculée-Conception Roman Catholic Church in Acadieville, NB, on Friday, October 1, 2004, at 4pm.
