Effie M. Hawes 1910 - 2004 Effie M. Hawes, 94, formerly of South St., Moncton and Guysborough, NS, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, September 29, 2004. Born in Harbour Deep, Nfld, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Fannie (Colburne) Howell. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church and a member of the Willing Workers of St. George's Church. She was also a member of the Chignecto, Order of the Eastern Star # 43 in Guysborough, NS. Effie will be fondly remembered by her step-granddaughter, Charlotte Steeves and her husband Rob of Moncton and by their children Jason and Tyler Steeves and families. Effie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by by her husband, Clifford J. Hawes in September 1970. At Effie's request, there is no visitation at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church on Sunday,October 3, 2004 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Chris Vanbuskirk officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends for a reception in the hall at St. George's Anglican Church immediately following the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough, NS. Donations made to the Canadian Red Cross or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
