Jean Waddy, wife of Percy Waddy
R. Jean (Colpitts) Waddy 1922 - 2004 The death of Jean Waddy, wife of Percy Waddy, occurred on October 8, 2004 after a long illness. Jean was the daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (Taylor) Colpitts. She was an astute businesswoman, a devoted wife, and a proud mother and grandmother with a strong connection to the Colpitts community and Albert County. Jean is survived by her husband, four children (Lane, Fred, Susan and Patrick), two daughters-in-law (Cécile and Ruth-Anne) and nine grandchildren (Lisa, David, Christina, Michael, MarcAndré, Julien, Christopher, Michelle and Julia). She is also survived by her uncles Fred Taylor (Monteagle) and Claude Taylor (Montreal), and numerous Colpitts and Taylor cousins. Her parents and her sister, Lu Colpitts, predeceased her. In accordance with her wishes, Jean has been cremated and will be interred in the family plot at the Colpitts Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to Jean's home from 6 to 9 pm on Saturday, October 16 to share memories of Jean (5005 Rte 895, Colpitts Settlement). Her memorial service will be held at the Colpitts United Church at 3 pm on Sunday, October 17, 2004. A reception will follow. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the CNIB, the Colpitts United Church or charity of the donor's choice. The Albert County Funeral Home in Hopewell Cape is in charge of arrangements.
