Flora (Melanson) Bastarache SHEDIAC BRIDGE, NB - Mrs. Flora Bastarache, 100 years and 4 months, wife of the late J. Vital Bastarache (1996), of Shediac Bridge and formerly of Edmunston, passed away peacefully at the residence of her daughter Gilberte (Bastarache) Bourque on October 20, 2004. Born in Cormierville, June 8, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Marie (Goguen) Melanson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by three daughters, Fernande (Bastarache) Stineka of Leesburg, Florida, Gilberte (Bastarache) Bourque of Shediac Bridge, Jeannine Powers of St. Thomas de Kent; two sons, Gerald (Carmen Henri) and Raymond (Monik Lamy) all of St. Thomas de Kent; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice and Georgine and by four brothers, Arthur, Donat, Raymond and Edgar. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). As per the wish of the family, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
