Marie S. Nowlan MIRAMICHI, NB - Marie S. Nowlan passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2004 with her loving family at her side, after a sudden illness at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, NB, on December 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Murdock) Phelan, she was the wife of the late Hayward L. Nowlan. She is survived by three sons, Louis (Margie) of Summerside, PEI, Donnie (Nancy) of Miramichi, Tommy (Mary Ellen) of Frederiction; two daughters, Dorothy (Ricky) Henry of Miramichi, Mary (Allen) Dickson of Napan; one brother, Byron (Theresa) Phelan of St. John; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased also by her precious daughter Anne Marie McLean (2000) and David and Eleanor; three brothers, Rev. George Phelan CSB, Patrick Phelan and James Phelan; sister, Dorothy Phelan. She was a gentle and quiet lady who loved her family dearly and enjoyed sitting in her warm back porch talking to her family and reading the papers. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Maher's Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi, NB. Interment in St Michael's Cemetery.
