Elizabeth Ann Morrison BEDFORD, NS - It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Morrison, 71, who passed away on November 6, 2004 at home. Golfer, artist, beloved wife of, Roy; mother to Cathy (Shane), Linda, Maria and Stephen; daughter-in-law, Sharon; and grandmother to, Emily and Luke MacElwain, Calgary, Jordan and Tyler Morrison, Bedford and Lindsay Morrison, Lower Sackville; brother, Douglas, Ottawa; several nieces and nephews. Betty passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, and beloved cat, Penny, as she would have wished. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late H. Stewart and Dorothy Buchanan. Betty grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick and attended Moncton High School. Her long Journey with Roy began in 1949 and they married in 1954. This past July they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Betty's achievements over the years were many including successfully raising four wonderful children. She became an excellent golfer winning many tournaments including the 1953 N.B./P.E.I. Mixed Foursome Title with Roy and later on her own, three Club Championships in Manitoba and New Brunswick. In later years Betty discovered her true passion and devoted much of her time to becoming a renowned artist. She won many awards for her paintings in both Nova Scotia and Florida. In retirement, Betty and Roy enjoyed over 20 winters in their much loved adopted home of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and the rest of the years in Halifax. She will be forever missed. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Gerald. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish with Father Bernard O'Neil officiating. Interment will be in the Shediac Road Catholic Cemtery, Moncton, NB. For those who wish, memorial donations may be the Heart and Stroke Foundation or M.S. of Canada. Arrangements, entrusted to T.K.
