Wilma H. Burns

Wilma H. Burns 1928 - 2004 Wilma H. Burns, 75, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 6, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Alma, NB, she was the daughter of the late Norval and Henrietta (Seely) Martin. She grew up and spent her early married years in what is now Fundy National Park, moving to Alma in 1948 and to Riverview in 1965. She loved the outdoors, her flowers, and animals, especially dogs. Her greatest love was her family, to whom she was completely devoted. Wilma will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Otty Burns; daughter, Diana O'Connor (Gary) of Harvey, NB; sons, Murray Burns (Mary) and Paul Burns (Gail) all of Riverview; one sister, Betty Shaffer of Hillsborough; one brother, Graydon Martin (Myra) of Alma; and several nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved "Grammie" to seven grandchildren, Rob Burns, Deborah Mahoney (Dave), Darren O'Connor (Gail), Katherine O'Connor, Owen, Fraser and Emily Burns and by four great-grandchildren, Daniel and Rebekah O'Connor and Hannah and Erin Mahoney. Visitation at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Monday, November 8, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave., Riverview on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. In Wilma's memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation "Oncology Dept." or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
