Donald R. Beers 1934 - 2004 Donald R. Beers of Moncton, NB, passed away on November 29, 2004 at The Moncton Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Emeron, NB on March 7, 1934, he was the son of the late Hebert and Hespa (Young) Beers. Donald who was more familiarly known as Donnie, owned and operated D.R. Beers and Son Construction as well as Terra Blends, serving the city of Moncton and outlying areas for over 30 years. Donnie was also a former stock car driver who raced in New Brunswick and other parts of the Maritimes. Donnie was well known for his fierce competitiveness and winning attitude. Donnie and the #3 car were crowd favorites who pleased and exited race fans for many years. Donnie still enjoyed the sport of stock car racing and made numerous trips to the NASCAR race circuit. Donnie also loved snowmobiling, fishing and working in his garage. His love for business and racing were only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Donnie will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his wife of 49 years, Theresa (Roberts) Beers and his three children; Donna (Maurice) Richard of Moncton, Craig (Lisa) Beers of Moncton and Rhonda Lynn Beers of Halifax. "Grumpy" will also be sadly missed by his four grand children, Melissa, Jennifer, Mathieu and Justin "J.C."; his brothers and sisters, Eldred of Wickham, NB, Gordon of Moncton, Gladys (Templeton) of Riverview, NB, Dorothy Beers of Sussex, NB, and Marilyn MacDonald of Riverview, NB. He was predeceased by two brothers Harry Beers of Bryants Corner and Carman Beers of Oshawa, ON. Visitation at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 from 7 to 9PM and Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 2 to 4PM and 7 to 9PM. The Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:30AM. A reception will follow in the Garden View Reception Room of the Funeral Home. Interment in Browns Yard Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the memorial of the donor's choice.
