Frances Jardine
Frances Jardine PORT ELGIN, NB - The death of Frances Jardine, age 98, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home on Friday, December 3, 2004. Born in Glace Bay, NS, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Emma (Morrison) Nickerson. Frances taught school for 32 years in Moose River, NS, Hillside,Trenton, Amherst,Tidnish Bridge, NS and Borden, PEI. She was a member of the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin and church organist for 20 years, a member of the Fort Monckton Chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the IODE and the Monarchist League of Canada. A lover of poetry, she inspired students to excel and was a friend to all. Frances will be sadly missed by her two sons, Thomas (Suzanne) of Moncton and Murdoch (Linda) of Winnipeg; a foster son, Dieter (Brigitte) von Hausen of Munich, West Germany; two grandchildren, Andrew and Scott; as well as five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bill and by a sister, Jean. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Port Elgin on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 2 pm, Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, New Glasgow, NS.
