Arthur L. Cromwell
Arthur L. Cromwell SUSSEX, NB - Arthur Lee Cromwell, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre, Saturday, December 4, 2004, husband of Muriel Joan (Horsman) Cromwell. Born September 7, 1924, at Hunter's Home, son of the late Issac Brian and Vine (Morton) Cromwell. He was a farmer and lumberman his entire life, but his greatest passion was "trading horses". He was Chairman, Board of Directors for Cannan Forks Cemetery, where he spent many hours, in his last 40 years undertaking the rehabilitation of this Cemetery. He served overseas in WWII with the Carleton York Regiment, First Division, in England, North Africa, Algiers, Sicily and Italy. Survived by his wife, Muriel Joan Cromwell; two sons, Brian Lee (Margo Adair) of Sussex and Richard Allan James (Debbie) of Riverview; one daughter, Deborah Mae Prosser (Gerry) of Petitcodiac; two sisters, Annie Belle Beck (Walter) of Rte 112 and Dorin Kierstead (Ralph) of Collina; brothers, Hanford (Margaret) of Miramichi City and King (Barbara) of Kenora, ON; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and by a very special niece, Shelia Jolly (Michael) Goolwa, Australia. Besides his parents; he was predeceased by five brothers, Oliver S. in 1934, Wellington Wolfe, Ortona, Italy in 1943, Jason A. in 1974, Ernest O. in 1990, and Seth I. in 1996; and sister, Lilly L. Callaghan in 2000. Resting at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, with visitation on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm with a Legion Service at 6:45pm. Funeral Service will be at New Canaan United Baptist Church at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 with Pastor Wayne Ward officiating. Interment at Canaan Forks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canaan Forks Cemetery or organization of donor's choice.
