Therese M. Poley 1953 - 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Therese Poley, 51, wife of Raymond Poley, of Riverview. She passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 27, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 24, 1953 in Campbellton, NB, she worked for the CN until her retirement in 2003. She was the daughter of the late Josephine and Amedée Guimond. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview. She will be sadly missed by her husband Raymond; two daughters, Christine Poley-MacTavish of Lethbridge, AB and Rachel Poley of Riverview; five sisters, Rita Duguay of Lachenaie, QC, Cécile Bélisle of Vimont-Laval, QC, Bernadette Blakely of Ottawa, ON, Marie Guimond of Lachine, QC, and Marguerite Guimond of Campbellton, NB; three brothers, Paul Guimond of Sudbury, ON, André Guimond of Dalhousie, NB, and Louis Guimond of Atholville, NB; two brothers-in-law, Edward Poley and his wife Debra, and Frank Poley and his wife Marjo; also by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Therese is predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Amedée Guimond; her mother and father-in law Annie and Clay Poley; and by two brothers, Louis and Joseph Guimond. Therese was a caring, gentle soul who loved animals and the outdoors. She spent many hours fishing on the Restigouche, watching harness racing and cheering her daughters on at basketball games. Therese and Ray were avid golfers, and she enjoyed teasing Ray when she beat him. Therese was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She never complained and always put others before herself. She was an example of love, courage and bravery until her final days. She will be missed by all who knew her. The Family will be receiving visitors at the Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Sunday, January 2, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Parish Prayers and sharing stories of Therese will be held Sunday at 8:30pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 10:30 am with Fr. Jeff Doucette officiating. Interment will be in Campbellton Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations to the Neurology Center Moncton Hospital or the Oncology Center of the Dr. Georges-L.
