Lieu de décès : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 28 février 2009

It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Sheldon Morrison on Feb. 28, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, Sheldon was the son of Noreen and the late George Morrison.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Viola (MacLeod); and his three devoted children, William (Jenifer), Shelene (Gary) Gilmour and Jillian (Darryl). Sheldon is also survived by his cherished sister, Billie (Blair) MacPhee, to whom he was forever grateful for her gift of extended life. Sheldon was blessed with three grandsons, Joshua, Henry and Dane, who all brought a special joy to his life. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins who were a part of his large extended family that he loved dearly.
Besides his father George, Sheldon was predeceased by a son at infancy, his mother and father-in-law, Catherine and William MacLeod and sister-in-law, Katherine Kachafanas.
Sheldon was a member of the first graduating class of Eastern Tech, with a diploma in electrical technology. He was employed with the Cape Breton Development Corporation as a senior electrical technologist and project manager. He was a member of the team that won the National Mine Rescue Competition in 1973.
Sheldon was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed both restoring old motorcycles and many trips with friends. He spent much of his time outdoors, especially in his beloved piece of paradise, Big Pond. There he enjoyed fishing, sailing, music around the campfire and entertaining friends. Sheldon was widely known for his electrical, mechanical and carpentry skills, which he willingly shared with family and friends. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humour and quick wit. His stories will be with us forever and continue to make us laugh.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday, March 4 at 10 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Patten Funeral Home, Union Street, Glace Bay.
Donations in Sheldon’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Online condolences may be e-mailed to patten@seaside.ns.ca.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
Although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
