James T. (Ted) Nichols
James T. (Ted) Nichols 1914 - 2005 James Theodore Nichols passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton on Monday, January 24, 2005. Born in Argyle, Guysborough County, NS, 14 May, 1914, son of George and Minnie (Hattie) Nichols. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years Betty (Butler) Nichols; two sons, Alexander (Anne) of Cary, North Carolina and Dale (Pat) of Halifax, N.S.; four grandchildren, Lexie, Robert, David and Kelly. Survived by a sister, Alma (Grant) Williams, Barneys River, NS, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Winona and Jean; brothers, Charles, Alexander, Henry, Wilfred, Wendell and Clifford. Ted retired from the Federal Department of Transport in 1977. He was a member of West Lane Baptist Church. Over the years Ted enjoyed bowling, wood crafting and rug hooking. He also enjoyed playing the fiddle and was a member of the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers. By family request there will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Service to be held Friday, January 28, 1:30 PM at West Lane Baptist Church (170 West Lane, Moncton). A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations can be made to West Lane Baptist Church, the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Dialysis Unit Memorial Fund, or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
