Lawrence Francis Dennis CHATHAM, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Mr. Lawrence Dennis of Chatham, which occurred at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Monday, January 31, 2005, at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness. Lawrence, predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Wood) Dennis of 49 years, will be dearly missed but always remembered by his daughter, Mary of Chatham and sons, Michael of Bathurst and Gregory (Kelly) of Chatham. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard Dennis and Christopher Dennis; as well as his brother, Louis (Pat) Dennis of Toronto and sister, Vera (Blake) Hamilton of Whitneyville, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Dennis; mother, Mary Roberta (Estey) Dennis; brothers, Leonard, Alphonsus, Morrisey, Vince, Jack, Kenneth, Albert Dennis and sisters, Estella Wood, Theresa Dennis, Gertrude Dennis, Rita Scott. He was also predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Amanda-Lynn Dennis. Born in Halcomb, Lawrence was a Veteran of the Second World War, and a carpenter by trade. He worked at Burchill's, built many homes in the Miramichi region and enjoyed working at the former C.F.B. Chatham until his retirement. A member of Saint Michael's Basilica, Lawrence will be remembered by his willingness to help others, kind heart and great sense of humor. The family will receive visitors at Maher's Funeral Home located in Chatham, Tuesday, 7 to 9pm and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
