Margaret F. Garrett 1912 - 2005 Mrs. Margaret Garrett, 92, of Parklands Estates, Riverview, formerly of Westmount Blvd, Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2005. Born November 22, 1912, in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Annie (Glascow) Laschinger. Marg was a graduate of the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a private duty nurse in Ottawa prior to her marriage to Cecil Garrett in 1940. Cecil was a career banker with the Bank of Montreal. Marg and Cec lived and worked in Mahone Bay, NS, Moncton, NB, Chatham, NB, Halifax, NS, Truro, NS and Shediac, NB, before moving to Lachine, PQ in 1963. In 1999 they moved back to Moncton. Marg was an accomplished bridge player and swam for years at the Dixie Pool in Lachine, PQ. She was a member of Mount Royal United Church. Marg is survived by her two daughters, Ann Piech (Ken) of Buffalo, NY, and Mary Taylor (Richard) of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Garrett Piech (Julie Fromer) of Horseheads, NY, Marjorie Piech, Buffalo, NY, and Christopher Taylor, Moncton, NB; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Piech, Horseheads, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Marg was predeceased by her husband of 63 years in August, 2004. She was also predeceased by her parents, as well as all of her siblings, James Edmund Laschinger, Charles Herbert Laschinger, Alan Gordon Laschinger, and Eleanor Mary Raper. At Marg's request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Interment of her ashes will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation, the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or to the charity of ones choice.
