Hazel Laura Ryan 1927 - 2005 The death of Hazel Laura Ryan, wife of John Ryan, of Mill Road, Moncton, occurred peacefully at the Dr. GeorgesL. Dumont Hospital on Friday, March 11, 2005. Born in Dieppe she was the daughter of the late Barney and Daisy (Forsythe) Gould. Mrs. Ryan retired from Transport Canada after many years of service. She attended St Michael's Catholic Church in Moncton. Following her retirement, she was very active in her community, she was formerly Secretary of the Bicentennial Skating Club, and operated her own small business "Sewing To Go" and sold her scarves at craft shows in the Moncton area where she was know as the "Scarf Lady". In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by four children, Carol Ann (Paul) Melanson, Sheila Ryan, Gary (Monique) Ryan and Susan (Tim) MacDonald all of Moncton. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Boudreau of Moncton, Lorrette (Walter) Wilson of Montreal, and Jean Alcorn of Rexton; two brothers, Jack (Inez) Gould of Shediac, and Garnett (Margaret) Gould of Coverdale; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine (the late Donald) Gould of Moncton; ten grandchildren, whom she cherished, Natalie Ryan, Venessa Ryan, Christine Ryan, Leo Paul Melanson, Julie Melanson, Ryan MacDonald, Alex MacDonald, Michael MacDonald, Shane MacDonald and Brandon Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Donald in 1999 and Valary in 1932. The family will be receiving visitors at Cadmans Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street, Moncton on Tuesday March 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11 am at St Michael's Church, Moncton. Followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Mrs. Ryan's memory made to the Kidney Foundation or The Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation Dialysis Unit would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Cadmans Funeral Home (8571110) 114 Alma Street, Moncton.
