Leo Morris MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Leo Morris, of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the age of 76. Leo was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, whose courageous battle with illness came to a peaceful end in the presence of a loving family. Born in Ludgar, Leo was the son of the late Gerard and Marie Rose (Hache) Morris. Leo was a woodsman and custodian. Leo attended Ascension Roman Catholic Church in Beaverbrook and was a member of the Club d'Age d'Or Beausoleil. Besides his wife, Jeannine (Saulnier); Leo is survived by 12 daughters, Victoria Lemay (Bruno) of Duberger, PQ, Gemma Berube (Jean-Leo) of Forsythe, PQ, Helena Parent (Guy) of Aylmer, PQ, Reymonde Hare (Billy) of Miramichi, Dora Daigle (Ronald) of Laketon, Lucia Berube (Germain) of Senneterre, Sylvia Savoie (Jean-Maurice) of Grand Anse, Marie Picard (Albert) of Val D'Or, PQ, France Ward (Peter) of Red Bank, Gisele of Miramichi, Janice Morris (Jason) of Moncton, and Patricia of Miramichi; four sons, Jean-Claude (Anne) of Beaverbrook, Alfred (Ginette) of Val D'Or, PQ, Sylvio (Linda) of Beaverbrook, and Fernand (Brenda) of Beaverbrook; seven sisters, Melanie Goyette (John) of Beresford, Marie Tremblay (Fernand) of Petit Rocher, Lydia Gallant (Normand) of Ste. Anne de Kent, Bertha Roy (Valmore) of Nicolas Denys, Marie Rose Boudreau (Urbain) of Petit Rocher, Emilia Savoie (Fabien) of Bathurst, and Leona Belanger (Leo) of Manitowadje, ON; three brothers, Joseph (Therese), Gerard Jr. (Therese), and Yvon (Yvonne), all of Beaverbrook; 30 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Leo was predeceased by his first wife, Cecile Austin; seven siblings; and three grandchildren. The family received relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9, and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 21, 2005 at 11AM from Ascension Roman Catholic Church in Beaverbrook with Father Stan Paulin officiating. Burial will be later in the spring. As expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke, Diabetes Association or to the Arthritis Society.
