(October 18, 1922 - August 10, 2008) The family of Andrew Joseph Murphy sadly announce his passing at home, longtime owner of Murphy's Service Station, Empire Avenue. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Anne Murphy; his sisters: Mary and Sr. Mary Estelle (Rose); brother Lionel; and his infant son Andrew. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 53 years, Joan (nee Duff) and their children Elizabeth Anne Gorman (Wayne), Andrew (Tania), Robert (Jennie), Gerard/Chuck (Jacquie) and Mary Bruneau (Steve); his grandchildren David, Laura, Andrew, Colin, Liam, Meghan and Luke. Also leaving to mourn his brothers: Brendan and Edward (Bernie); his brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty Prowse (Bernard), Kevin Duff and Betty Duff; also a large circle of family and friends. Visitation will take place at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass to take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
