The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Monday, March 2, 2009, of Ian MacRae of Charlottetown and formerly of Ebenezer, age 75. Ian was the beloved husband of Catherine \"Kay\" (nee Buchanan); the loving father of David (Dianne) of Dundee, NY, U.S.A.; Rev. Karen of Bluevale, Ontario; and Kevin (Roberta) of Charlottetown; and the loving grandfather of Shawn, Eric, Beth, Austin and Shane; and Gordon and Robert. He is also survived by his brothers, Arnold (Joan) of Charlottetown and Stewart (Rita) of Ebenezer; his sister, Helen (Buddy) MacEwen of Stanley Bridge; his aunt, Blanche MacLeod of Charlottetown; his sister-in-law, Marjorie Colpitts of Moncton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ian was predeceased by his infant daughter, Cassie Reta; his parents, Norman and Reta MacRae (Carew); his stepmother, Mary (MacNutt); and his brother-in-law, George Colpitts. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Glasgow Road Presbyterian Church, Ebenezer, on Friday, March 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. Interment later in the Fredericton Cemetery.
