Myrtle A. Beckwith
Myrtle A. Beckwith 1907 - 2005 Myrtle A. Beckwith, of the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, passed away at her residence on Friday, July 9, 2005 at the age of 97 years. Born in Dawson Settlement, NB on December 23, 1907 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alfreda (Wells) Crossman. Myrtle was an Avon representative for over 20 years, she was a member of the Gunningsville United Baptist Church, and a member of the W.M.S. within the church. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church Golden Years Fellowship, a member of the Coverdale Senior Citizens Club, and a member of the Salvation Army Home League. She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Donald) Thorne of Muskoka, ON; sister, Elva Steeves of Hillsborough, NB; son-in-law, Bill Tait of Buxton, Maine; three grandchildren, Leslie Tait, Sherry Dick, and Brenda Thorne; great granddaughter, Shawna Tait, and two great great grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor, also by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Leslie W. Steeves in 1941, and her second husband, A. Jasper Beckwith in 1983. Also by her daughter, Joan Tait in 2002; sisters, Ethel Dobson, and Muriel Shaffer, and her brother, Frank Crossman. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Monday, July 11, 2005 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at The Gunningsville United Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In Myrtle's memory, donations made to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
