Passed peacefully away on August 9, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB, Margaret Rita Kearney, formerly of St. John's, NL, wife of the late Patrick Kearney. She was born on December 30, 1920 in St. John's, NL, and was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Corcoran) Reardigan. She is survived by her children: Joseph (Julie) Kearney of St. John's, NL, Dr. Frances (Jack) MacDougall of Fredericton, NB, Dermott (Yvonne) Kearney of St. John's, NL and Kathleen (Lowell) McCullough of Harvey, NB; grandchildren: Christina, John and Patrick Kearney of St. John's, NL, Margaret, Kathleen, Erin and Allan MacDougall of Fredericton, NB and Patrick and Daniel McCullough of Harvey, NB; brother, Jack Reardigan; sisters: Gert (Sam) Reardigan and Sheila (Mike) Summers all of St. John's, NL; special life long friend Ann Smith of Shropshire, England; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia and sister, Mary (Mike) Murphy. Mary worked for the CNIB for a number of years before her retirement. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday, August 13 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 14 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
