Alice Murray
Alice Murray PORT ELGIN, NB - The death of Alice Murray, age 89, widow of Leslie Murray, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home on Saturday, July 16, 2005. Born in North Tryon, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Thompson) Pooley. She was a member of Trinity United Church, Port Elgin, and a faithful member of their choir and UCW. She was formerly employed at Henderson's Drug Store, Port Elgin. Alice is survived and will be sadly missed by two daughters, Doris (Carl) Pauley, Port Elgin, NB and Ruth (Doug) Prentice, Hamilton, ON; and birth son, Allan (Kathy) Pooley, Sackville, NB, the adoptive son of Alice's brother Arthur (Westford Nursing Home) and the late Marion Pooley; seven grandchildren, Donald, Elizabeth, Brian, Steven, Ricky, Bethany and Evan; and five great grandchildren, Trevor, Heidi, Nicole, Christine and Derick; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie in February 2005; and sisters, Adelaide and Leidie. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main Street, Port Elgin with visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 2 pm, Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin.
