Ivy (Whitman) Balfour 1919 - 2005 Thessalon, ON - Ivy (Whitman) Balfour passed away at Algoma Manor, Thessalon, ON on July 30, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born at Trenton, N.S. on Sept 16, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Harry Whitman and Ivy (Stone) Whitman. Ivy was a registered nurse and took her training at Moncton City Hospital. She is survived by her husband Alan Balfour of Thessalon; a son, Keith (Jane) of Elliot Lake, Ont; a brother, Douglas (Phyllis) Whitman of Moncton; and several loving grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters, Ivy Jean and Alice; brother, Harry and sister Alberta. There will be a memorial service at Canadian Legion Hall, Elliot Lake on August 5, 2005. Interment will be at St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Port Dufferin, Halifax County at a later date.
