Passed away suddenly at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, March 2, 2009, Garland Bannister of Port Rexton, aged 71 years. Predeceased by parents Robert and Mary Julia Bannister. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Euphima of 46 years; son Tony of Markham, ON; daughters: Karen (Terry Lochhead) of Woodbridge, ON and Julia of Toronto, ON; grandson Will; sister Sadie Butler (Purcell - deceased), Cookstown, ON; brothers: Robert (Lillian), Corner Brook and Ray (Marguerite), Kingston, ON and a circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Port Rexton on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 from the Anglican Church, Port Rexton with cremation to follow. In his memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
