Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Center, on Monday, March 2, 2009, in her 75th year. Predeceased by infant son John (1958) and parents Thomas and Myrtice Best. Leaving to mourn are loving husband Howard; sons Peter and Philip (Catherine); granddaughters Lily and Olivia; brothers Don (Mabel), Harvey (Mabel), Neil (Linda) and Neville; brothers-in-law Garfield (Audrey), Harvey (Marina), Wesley (Margaret); sisters-in-law Gloria and Flossie; as well as many nieces, nephews and her circle of devoted friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Fogo, United Church Cemetery Fund in Lewisporte or to the General Hospital Health Foundation in St. John’s.
