Edward O'Connor
Edward O'Connor 1919 - 2005 Edward O'Connor passed away August 26, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital. Born in Cape Wolfe, PEI in 1919 he is the son of Raymond and Bernice (Crossman) O'Connor. He fished lobster with his father before joining the army and serving in World War II as a gunner in the North Shore Anti Tank Regiment. He retired from the St. Margaret's Radar Base with 35 years service as a pumphouse operator. He was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Edward will be sadly missed by his five children, Wayne of Alberton, PEI, Kenny of St. Margaret's, NB, Noreen Mott (Gary) of Cranbrook, BC, Danny of Dartmouth, NS, Carmel Richard (Ronald) of Moncton; one brother, Alfred of Hamilton, Ontario; two sisters, Laura Stewart, Trudy Kuhl of O'Leary, PEI. He also leaves four grandsons, Randy of Hamilton, Ont, Brent of Stoney Creek, Ont., Darren of Black River Bridge, Daniel of Dartmouth, NS; one grandaughter, Christa, Dartmouth, NS; six great grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Jason, Kyle, Sydni, Emma; several nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Ned". He will also be missed by his loyal companion Sparky. He was predeceased by his wife Bridget (Dwyer); two brothers, Arthur, Daniel; two sisters, Eunice and Ella O'Halloran. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home with visiting hours Sunday, August 28, 2005 at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Margaret's Church on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 11:00am.
