Alice "Claire" Carreau
Alice "Claire" Carreau WAVERLEY, NS - Alice "Claire" Carreau, of Waverley, passed away with family by her side on September 6, 2005 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Shields) Abraham. Prior to her marriage in 1952, Claire was employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Motor Vehicles. After 25 years as a proud stay-at-home mom, she was employed by DVA for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid movie collector. She was a long time member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church and a member of the CWL. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian of 53 years'; son, Paul (Sue), Calgary, AB; daughters, Alicia, Edmonton, AB, Juliette (Tony) Bond, Moncton, NB; brother, Father Murray Abraham S.J., India; sister, Betty Perry, Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Kelly, Mark and Angela; one great-grandchild due to arrive any day; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers, Arthur and John. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Friday in St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Father Duncan MacMaster officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
