Eleanor P. Lanteigne
Eleanor P. Lanteigne 1916 - 2005 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Eleanor Pearl Lanteigne, widow of the late Percy J. Lanteigne, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Loggieville, passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at the age of 89. Born in Loggieville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora (Carroll) Redmond. She was a homemaker and a former employee of both the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi and the Runnymede Nursing Home, in Toronto, Ont. She attended St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church; a former member of the C.W.L.; a member of the Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club. During the years of the Second World War, Eleanor contributed to the war effort by making radios in Montreal. Her love for life and her family was evident in her quick wit and the ever present smile in her sparkling blue eyes. She is survived by two daughters, Margie Carscadden (Gary), of Miramichi and Theresa Richards, of London, Ont.; four sons, Joe Lanteigne (Irene), of Miramichi, Gerald Lanteigne (Fran), of Moncton, Bobby Lanteigne (Marg), of London, Ont. and John Lanteigne, of Toronto, Ont.; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Percy; one son, Thomas Lanteigne; one son-in-law, Bill Richards. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being predeceased by thirteen siblings. Visiting will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi, on Saturday, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the C.N.I.B., the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
