Emery Gauvin

Emery Gauvin 1920-2005 Emery Gauvin, 85, of Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital. Born in Fox Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Zacharie and the late Celestina (née LeBlanc) Gauvin. Mr. Gauvin had retired as a mailman after 25 years with Canada Post, he was a veteran of World War Two, having served with army "Carleton & York Regiment", he enjoyed playing cards, was a member of the Club d'Age d'Or de St. Anselme and was a parishioner of St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Gauvin is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Gauvin of Dieppe and Elmini Gauvin of Villa du Repos, formerly Dieppe; two brothers, Edgar (late Eva), of Moncton and Normand (Leoline) of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews in which he took great pride. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Eddy, and also by one half-sister, Bella. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm, and also on Thursday from 10am until time of departure. The Legion will hold a prayer service on Wednesday at 7pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church, on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 11am. Interment in St. Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation-Cardiac Unit would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
