Joseph "Joe" B. Leger Joseph "Joe" B. Leger, 79, of Cedar Street, Moncton, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a short illness. Born June 23, 1926 in Saint-Joseph, he was the son of the late Willie and Exelda (LeBlanc) Leger. Joe was employed at CN as a sheet metal worker before his retirement, a member of the Parkton Golden Age Club, and Past President of International Brotherhood of Sheet Metal Workers. A caring family man, devoted husband, and loving father, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years Venolia "Vi" (Fontaine) Leger; daughter, Linda Surette (Danny) of Moncton; sons, Bernard (Anita) of Dieppe, and Francis (Bernice) of Moncton; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael (Carmen), Lisa, Keith, Rachelle; two step-grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer Savoie; three great-grandchildren, James, Curtis, and Robyn; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. A grandson, Chris Leger (1988); four sisters, Yvonne, Nélida, Marie, Anne-Marie; and five brothers, Pierre, Vital, Alfred, Dollard, and Joseph pre-deceased him. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church (Parkton).
