Grace Adams MacDonald 1925-2005 Grace Adams MacDonald (nee Clasper) passed away at her home in Moncton on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Loving wife of Angus MacDonald, Grace was a loving mother to Michael, Allan, Jane and Daniel and a loving grandmother to Scott, Ellen, Ian, Susan, Katherine, and Amy. She is also survived by three sisters, Joan, Catherine, and Margaret; two brothers, George and John and sisters-in-law, Patricia and Mary; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Jack, Daniel and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Angus; her sisters, Betty and Nancy and by her brothers-in-law, Allan and Bernard. Born in South Shields, New Castle-upon-Tyne, England on April 8, 1925 she is the daughter of the late John and Jane Clasper. She arrived in Canada via Halifax as a war bride in 1946. A veteran of the Second World War, she volunteered for active service as a WAFF in the RAF (Royal Air Force) at the young age of 17 in November of 1942 and saw active duty on various RAF and RCAF air bases throughout southern England until 1946. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, War Brides of Canada and the Air Force Veterans Club of Moncton having also served in executive positions. Grace enjoyed life as a homemaker and was very dedicated to her husband and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who always maintained her wonderful sense of humor, respect and frankness for anyone she met. She particularly enjoyed the company of her many friends and was always there with a helping hand to support them. She made everyone who knew her feel loved and special; she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Very special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Rejean Savoie and all of his associated staff at the Oncology Centre at Moncton's Georges-L. Dumont hospital for their superb professionalism, kindness and the continued solid loving attention they provided. All are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, November 17 from 12:00-2:00 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Legion Service at 1:50 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Centre of the Georges-L. Dumont Hospital or to a Memorial of the Donors Choice. Interment to take place at the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery in Pictou, NS on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 1:30pm.
