With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Thomas Patton, 67, at Toronto Grace Hospital on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.
Born November 17, 1941 in Lower Montague, P.E.I., he grew up in Big Glace Bay and moved to Toronto as a young man.
He was predeceased by parents, Elizabeth (Betty Henderson) and Robert (Bob) Patton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine and Jock Henderson, Edith and Jack Kendall, Evelyn and Ezra Slack, Percy Williams, Major Rabey and Nick Rachey.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn; grandchildren, Mathew, Jonathon and Nicole; brother, Seward Patton; sisters, Aileen Williams, Violet Rabey, Louise Rachey, Ellen (Chuck) Simms, Gertrude (Carl) MacIntyre, Beulah (Jim) McInnes and Roberta (John) Garcia, an extended family, and many good friends.
John was a strong, proud man who lived life fully and delighted in providing for his friends and family. He will be deeply missed.
Cremation has already taken place. Services celebrating John’s life will be held in Toronto and Cape Breton at a later date.
