Ovila Gallant
Ovila Gallant Ovila Gallant, 89, of Shediac River, NB, husband of Eileen Galbraith, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Thursday, November 24, 2005 of a brief illness. Born in Barachois, NB on June 14, 1916. He was the son of the late Adelard Gallant and Léonie Léger. Ovila was a Maintenance employee for Crown Life Toronto, he attended St-Martin's in the Woods Anglican Church. He is survived his wife Eileen Galbraith; three daughters, Simonne Landry, (Late David), Léonie Vautour (Late Arthur) and Lorette Walsh (Late Gerry) all of Shediac; two step daughters, Katheleen Von-Kane (Daniel) of Victoria, BC and Barbara Dingwall (Farhat Jouini) of Montreal, Qc.; one son, John-Paul Gallant of Shediac; one step son, Charles Dingwall (Elizabeth) of Waterloo, Ont.; one sister, Aurore Doiron (Nap) of Shediac; 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Requested by the family there will be no visiting time at the Funeral Home, family and friends are invited to meet at Mrs. Eileen Gallant residence in Shediac River between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. on Sunday, November 27, 2005. Funeral Service to take place on Monday, November 28, 2005, 2:00 pm at St-Martins in the Woods Anglican Church, Shediac Cape with Captain Hugh Bateman officiating. Interment in St-Martins in the Woods, Anglican Cemetery. In Ovila's memory, donations to the Cancer Society or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends in the Young Smith Hall for further sharing of memories and refreshments.
