Dorothy Sloat PORT ELGIN, NB - The death of Dorothy Sloat, age 88, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, December 4, 2005. Born in Little Shemogue, she was a daughter of the late George and Kate (Brown) Burgin. She was a member of the South East Senior Citizen's Club, a member of Murray Corner United Church and Women's Institute. She was a great lover of animals. Dorothy is survived by her step-daughter, Jacqueline Jones, Queensville, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1974; three brothers, Harry, Gordon and Arthur and by a sister, Kathleen Blacklock. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main Street, Port Elgin (364-1300) from where the Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 at 2 pm. Visitation at the funeral home, Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm, and Wednesday from 1 pm until the time of the funeral. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
