Donald B. Mitchell 1932 - 2005 Donald Bartlett Mitchell, 73, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2005 from complications arising from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born in Moncton on July 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Frederick and Myrtle (Bartlett) Mitchell of Moncton. He is survived by his wife Ruth; sons, Peter of Calgary and Jeff ( his wife Anne) of Boston; one granddaughter, Lauren of Boston; a sister Ruth Churchill (James) of St. John's Newfoundland. He was employed by C.N.R. and Via Rail, retiring in 1989. He most recently enjoyed greeting friends and neighbors at the Riverview Sobey's store. He was member of St. John's United Church. He was also a member of Acacia Lodge no. 49 and Botsford Royal Arch Chapter no.7, Moncton Golf and Country Club, a former member of the Beaver Curling Club, past president of NB Junior Baseball League, past president of NB Senior Baseball League, past president of the Eastern Conference High School Hockey League, and an inductee to the New Brunswick Sports Hall of fame as a member of the Lewisville Keef Cubs. There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Service to be held on Friday, December 9 at 2:30 pm at St. John's United Church, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's United Church or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).
