J. MacRae (Rae) Roper J. MacRae (Rae) Roper, 87, of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 10, 2005. Born in East Royalty, PEI, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Isabel (MacRae) Roper. Rae was a graduate of Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown, retired from Blue Cross (Moncton) with 35 years service and was a member of Central United Church. He was a veteran of the Second World War, served overseas with the Royal Air Force and later the RCAF from 1940-47 as a Navigator and Bombardier. He served in Europe, North Africa, the Artic and the Berlin Air Lift. He was Past President of the #253 Wing (RCAF Association) former Board of Directors member of the Air Cadet League of Canada, member of the Air Force Veterans Club, the Moncton Legion Branch #6 and former member of the Moncton Gyro Club. Rae will be sadly missed by his daughter, Pam Bridges (Cole), Calais, Maine; sons, Ron (Eileen), Moncton, Paul (Denise), Shediac, Al (Dora), Riverview; sons-in-law, Perry Lutes, Elgin, Harrison Goodwin, Riverview; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Helen Roper; sister-in-law, Ruth Roper, both of Charlottetown; brother, Preston (Trudy) Moncton; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Lila (Thompson) Roper (November 2002); daughters, Sandra Lutes and Elizabeth Goodwin; and brother, Arnold.
