
Helen Theresa Parsons
81, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008, at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in St. John's, NL, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anne (Flynn) Evans. Married for 56 years to Ches, her loving husband with whom she raised six children, Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her younger years, Helen worked with the Department of Health and Welfare in St. John's, NL. She was a caring and thoughtful person who greatly enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, taking long walks with her husband and was a member of the Stardusters Square Dance Club for many years. Her other hobbies included watching curling and figure skating and reading. Helen will be forever missed by all her family and friends. Helen is survived by her husband, Chesley Robert; Daughters Brenda (Bob) Crann, Okotoks, Alberta, Janet Hall, Calgary, Alberta, Rozalyn Parsons, Calgary, Alberta and Leslie (Steve) Moss, Novato, California; Sons Ken (Fran), Scottsdale, Arizona and Greg (Fiona), Ottawa, Ontario; Brothers Mike, Derm and Frank Evans; Sisters Mary Carter and Joan Power; Grandchildren Matt, Steve, Andrew, Sarah, Gavin and Sheena-Helen. Helen is predeceased by brothers Kevin and Bernard and sister Betty. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, Dartmouth, Father Ronald Cairns officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
