Jean-Baptiste "John" Richard 1917 - 2005 Jean-Baptiste "John" Richard, 88, of Manoire Notre-Dame, Murphy Ave., Moncton and formerly of St-Norbert, passed away Monday, December 26, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a short illness. Born July 19, 1917, in St-Norbert, he was the son of the late Alexandre and Géneviève Richard. John was an avid card player and he will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Gloria Richard (Ervin) of Halifax, NS, Anise Maillet (Tim Chouinard), Jeannita Richard, all of Toronto ON, Gisèle Collette (Clarence) of Ste-Marie; three sons, Alonzo of Toronto ON, Conrad (Hélène) of Dieppe, Clarence (Denise) of Moncton; one sister Emilienne Hébert (Edgar) of Bouctouche; nineteen grandchildren and by nine great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Philomène (Bastarache) Richard (2001); a son, Alcedor (1987); five brothers, Willie, Edouard, Antoine, Philias and Placide; four sisters, sr. Gèneviève, Alice, Anna and Lina. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45 a.m). The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at Nôtre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church (Parkton). Interment will be in St-Norbert Roman Catholic Cemetery.
