Phoebe Gertrude Duncan

Phoebe Gertrude Duncan 1916 - 2006 Phoebe G. Duncan of Moncton passed away at the Georges Dumont Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 12, 2006. Born in Hill Grove, Westmorland County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Holmes) Colpitts. A teacher by occupation and desire, she took a personal interest in her students during a thirty-seven year career. Even after retirement in 1972, she returned to teach another year, continued to tutor students until she was in her eighties and coached her grandchildren in the 3R's. She was a long time member of Parkside Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and member of the Choir and Lois Winters Missionary Group. Never one to seek the lime light, she was notable by her faithfulness to her Saviour, family, local church and friends. Phoebe will be sadly missed by her sons, Neil (Roxanne), Ammon, Bruce (Keitha), Riverview; grandsons, Matthew, Mark, Adam and Alex; granddaughters, Hilary, Heather and Diana and many dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Ormond Trueman Duncan (1994); sister, Catherine Middleton. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Friday 7 to 9. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday January 14, 2006, 2pm, Rev. Jim Alley officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
