Ethel M. Farthing 1917-2006 Ethel M. Farthing, 88, of Shediac Rd, Moncton passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on January 25, 2006 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in McKees Mills, Ethel was the daughter of the late Fred and Bertha (Biggs) Hicks. Ethel was a loving wife and mother, living most of her married life in Montreal, Quebec, Clarkson Ontario, and Oceanside, California. She moved back home to be with her many brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews in 2002, where she resided with her brother Ken and then, most recently, with her many new friends at Peoples Park Towers and Camden Place. Ethel will be sadly missed by her daughter Lyn Lewis, Burlington, Ontario; son Steve (Lynn) and grandson Jason Farthing of San Diego, California; her brothers Fred Hicks, Edmonton, Alberta, Lloyd (Edna) Hicks, Moncton, Harvey (Doris) Hicks, Moncton, Calvin (Marg) Hicks, McKees Mills, Ken Hicks, Moncton and Gordon (Phyllis) Hicks, Shediac Cape; sister Helen Warner, Moncton and her many special nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Russell, her daughter Valerie, and her two brothers Russell and Roy Hicks There will be no visitation or funeral service by personal request, but it was Ethel's express wish for a private graveside service for family members at a later date. In Ethel's memory donations to the Friends of Moncton Hospital or the memorial of your choice would be appreciated by her family.
