Reta Close SALISBURY, NB - Reta Elizabeth Close, 86, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Shemoque, she was a daughter of the late Coleman and Maude (Payne) Spence. Reta was a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church and the W.M.S. of the Church, was a former ambulance attendant in Salisbury and a faithful volunteer at SPOT in Petitcodiac for 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, a friendly card game and gardening, especially her flowers. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Gordon; sons, John and Gordon Jr. of Salisbury; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Close of Moncton; grandchildren Craig, Carmen Benaquista (Pierto), Chantal Steel (Andrew), Cory, Carol Jensen (Jeremy), Jennifer, Kara and Gregory; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Garfield (Betty) and Clarence (Bella) Spence; sisters, Dorothy Stiles, Eileen Maxwell (Jim) and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son, Gregory; brother, Albert Spence. There will be a private family Funeral in the Chapel of the Salisbury Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. No visiting hours at Reta's request. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.
