Rita Mary Whalen 1921-2006 MOLUS RIVER, NB - Rita Mary Whalen, 84 of Molus River passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Bella Phillip, NB, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas Murphy and Grace (McFadden) Murphy. She was an employee of Canada Post for 27 years having the post office in her own home, also a homemaker and a personal caregiver for many people in the Moncton, Rexton and surrounding areas. Mom was a woman of strong faith which helped our family in numerous ways. She loved family gatherings and cooking. She was interested in each and every one of her family's activities. Mom loved her flowers and displayed them on her veranda each summer. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo J. Whalen in 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Herman) Warman of Molus River, their family, George (Laurie), Bry, Carly and Emme; Shawn and Kim, Felicia Brooke; Rodney; William (Kate), Mackenzie and Alexandra; Daneen and Jason; daughter, Elizabeth (late Chester) Thompson of Saint John, their family, Jim (Jackie), Andrea, Samantha, Dalton; Belinda (Dave) and Cole; son, Jimmy (Carmel) Whalen of Molus River, their family, Ted (Heidi), Makayla, Jesse, Madalynn, Wyatt; Lorraine, Sarah, Micky, Mathew; Rita (Rodney) Nathan, Colin; Reg (Sharon), Britany, Savannah; son, Bill (Judi) Whalen of Florenceville, their family, David and Mac; Joe; daughter, Marie (Ronnie) Walsh of Galloway, their family, Amber (Tommy), Olivia; Angie (Jeff), Calh; Naomi (Trevor); daughter, Marilyn (Graham) Hannay of Calgary, their family, Nicole, Colin and Ezekiel. Survived by her sister, Teresa (Emile) Savoie of Moncton. Rita was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Dennis F. Murphy, Phil, Pat, Dan, William and her sisters, Mary and Anna. Mom was blessed with many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. We will always love and miss you, Mum. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto, Thursday, February 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday, February 10, from 9 am until departure for funeral. Funeral Mass and interment will be held at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, Bass River on Friday, February 10, 2006 at 11 am.
