Surrounded by his loving family, Fred passed away on March 3, 2009 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital at the age of 83. Predeceased by and waiting to greet him with open arms are his wife Mary and daughter Judy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons: Fred (Delores), Richard (Cathy), Francis (Sandra); daughters: Kay Janes (Max), Rosalind Squires-Spurrell, Beverly (Guy Murphy), Tina (Glen Power); grandsons Scott, Don, Doug, Neil, Mark, Steven, Justin, Eugene, Trevor, Adam; granddaughters: Shannon, Angie, Judy, Ellen, Niki, Abigayle; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Jim; sisters Dot Trenchard, Gwen Francis, Marge Murphy and Helen Hampton (Fred), also leaving to mourn Larry Spurrell. He will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, March 6th at 11 a.m. from St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds. Interment to follow at St. Kevin’s Cemetery, Goulds. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
