Dr. Graham Adams Jr. SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Dr. Graham Adams Jr., age 77, of Sackville, occurred suddenly on February 14, 2006, while vacationing in Englewood, Florida. Born in New York, NY, he was the only child of the late Graham and Jeanette (Krupa) Adams. An educationalist, he attended private schools in New York and New Jersey, graduating in History from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.. He obtained his Masters and PhD from Columbia University in American History. After teaching at Barnard College, NY, University of Missouri, and University of Aberdeen, Scotland, he became the head of the History Dept at Mount Allison in 1967. Interested in research, he published numerous articles in professional journals of history in both Canada and United States. He was past president of the Atlantic Association of University Historians. Upon retirement, he continued doing research and publications, and enjoyed extensive travels with his wife. Dr. Adams will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Alice McFarlane, Sackville and several cousins. The remains have been entrusted to the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday, February 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 2 pm at the Mount Allison University Chapel, Rev. Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial in the Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Mount Allison University Scholarship Fund, or charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
