Bertram M. Steeves
Bertram M. Steeves 1925-2006 Bertram M. Steeves, 80, of McNair Manor in Riverview formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on March 1, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital. Bertram was born in Black Point, NB, on June 5, 1925 the daughter of the late Alexander and Ethel (McCormick) Dickie. She was a clerk at No 5 Depot until her retirement. Bertram was a member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church and sang with the Silver Chords Choir. She also belonged to the Pythian Sisters. Bertram was a very special lady and will always be remembered for her warm smile. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Arla Blakney (David) of Windsor, Ontario; sons, Sheldon Steeves (Karen) of Hillsborough, Dennis Steeves (Linda) of Bridgewater, NS; sister, Ruth Hawkes of Hillsborough; and by her six grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence E. Steeves (1983); a daughter Royetta (1973); and several brothers and sisters. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with the visitation on Friday Evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the First Hillsborough Baptist Church, Hillsborough on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2pm with Rev. Norman Woodworth Officiating. Interment will be held in the Shenstone Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the First Hillsborough Baptist Church, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
